MISSION

The Beacon is a community newsletter that strives to be impartial and accurate in its reporting. It endeavors to be innovative, creative, and, at all times, open to input, new ideas, and suggestions from the community.

The Beacon newsletter publishes information about upcoming events and activities in Rainberry Bay. The Beacon also publishes articles from clubs, committees, the board of directors, and management, as well as personal announcements and paid advertisements. The committee will establish written criteria for:

• Who may submit articles

• The permitted length of articles

• Restrictions on the content of articles or advertisements

• The size and costs of advertising

The Beacon provides an outlet for individual creativity. We welcome varied articles submitted by residents, as well as photographs and artwork.

The Beacon aims to be a positive, constructive addition to our community. Nothing contentious, divisive or destructive will be published; the Beacon aims to be an element for bringing people together, not dividing them.

• Nothing of a religious or political nature will be published.

• All articles submitted must be in writing and signed by the contributor. Anonymous material will be discarded.

• The editorial staff reserves the right to edit all material for its timeliness, length, and repetitiveness, as well as for clarity and mechanics of writing.

Material that needs clarification, verification, or major revision, will be returned for further editing by the contributor. The Beacon strives to be impartial and accurate in its reporting.
